Upgrade Programme Terms and Conditions

Important: Please Read Carefully.

This BoomBox Upgrade Programme Agreement (“Agreement”) constitutes a binding legal contract between Freaklabs (“the Company”) and the individual, researcher, or entity participating in the programme (“the Participant”).

By submitting a legacy circuit board for exchange, the Participant acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. The Participant represents and warrants that they are the lawful owner of the returned hardware or have been granted express authority by their institution or organization to enter into this exchange. Participation in this programme is strictly voluntary. If you do not agree to these terms in their entirety, you must not participate in the programme or ship any hardware to the Company.

1. Global Eligibility & Hardware Verification

  • Worldwide Participation: This programme is valid worldwide, subject to international shipping availability and compliance with local trade laws.
  • One-for-One Exchange: To receive a 50% discount on a new version board, you must return one qualifying legacy BoomBox board.
  • Identifiable Hardware: Returned boards must be reasonably complete and identifiable as authentic BoomBox hardware. Units that are severely damaged, scavenged for parts, or otherwise unrecognizable as BoomBox hardware do not qualify.
  • Circuit Board Only: The discount applies strictly to the replacement PCB hardware. It does not include enclosures, cables, power supplies, or peripheral accessories.

2. Shipping, Duties & Taxes

  • Customer Responsibility: Participants are responsible for all costs associated with shipping the old board to our facility.
  • Import Duties & Taxes: You are solely responsible for all import duties, customs fees, and local taxes incurred during both the return of the legacy board and the delivery of the new board.
  • Safe Packaging: Boards must be shipped with in adequate safe packing to ensure. We are not responsible for boards lost or damaged in transit.
  • Delivery Failures: Any costs associated with re-shipping or carrier-returned packages due to inaccurate addresses, "unclaimed" status, or failed delivery attempts will be billed to the Participant.

3. Liability & Installation

  • Total Device Disclaimer: The Company is not responsible for any damage caused to the rest of your device, equipment, or peripherals resulting from the removal of the old board or the installation of the new board.
  • Installation Risk: Users perform the hardware swap at their own risk. Claims for boards arriving damaged or non-functional (DOA) must be made within 48 hours of delivery confirmation.

4. Warranty & Support

  • Shop Policy: All new boards purchased through this programme are covered by our standard Warranty and Guarantees as defined in our current Terms of Service Policy.
  • Scope of Service: This programme covers circuit board hardware exchange only. Technical support for assembly, programming, deployment, data migration, or software compatibility is not included and may be subject to additional fees.

5. Programme Authority

  • Right to Modify: The Company reserves the right to change pricing, availability, or eligibility requirements, or to terminate the programme at any time without prior notice.
  • Finality: Once a board is submitted and accepted, the transaction is final. Legacy hardware cannot be returned to the Participant once the upgrade process has been initiated.
